Newtox is a cosmetic treatment that smooths out existing wrinkles or lines between the eyebrows. Newtox, officially known as Jeuveu, has the same active ingredient as Botox, botulinum toxin type A, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the new Botox or “Newtox”.

Frown lines, “elevens,” or glabellar lines come with aging. Some people are able to delay frown lines because of good genetics, but over time everyone’s skin loses its elasticity and ability to bounce back after a facial expression.

Frown lines can also come with:

• Sunlight; the more exposure, the more the UV rays break down the collagen and elastin.

FDA Approved 

Jeuveau, which rhymes with “hello”, is a French word that means “new.” This relatively new treatment has been approved by the FDA for use in the specific treatment of glabellar lines. In fact, the drug passed two clinical trials with double-blind placebo studies and achieved more than a 70% success rate. As a neurotoxin, it relaxes the muscles beneath the skin. 

Compared to Botox, Newtox is better designed for glabellar lines. It’s also less expensive in most cases!

After your face is cleansed, you will receive 5 small injections into the muscles around the frown lines. This process takes approximately 15 minutes. You are free to leave as soon as it is completed but encouraged not to rush back to a busy workday. Instead, take some time to relax afterward. 

As the intramuscular injection takes hold, the muscles will relax to create a smoother appearance. You may notice some results right away, while the full benefits will be seen in approximately one week. The skin will remain smooth for anywhere between one to three months.
