Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Ireland. After university, I moved to Amsterdam to start my career in the world of investment banking. I transferred from there to London, then moved to Manhattan, where I studied to get my MA in Holistic Wellness. Now living in Utah, I am living my passion in health and healing as a Functional Nutritionist.
How did you get into functional medicine?
Growing up with my own health issues, I’ve always believed that there were natural ways that I could heal. The more I researched, the more I believed in the power of nutrition and lifestyle to heal both physically and mentally/emotionally. I became increasingly driven to share the knowledge and belief I had accumulated to help others feel as well as I feel. My passion for healing continues to grow with every person I help.
How would you describe what you specialize in?
I work with clients to identify root causes or triggers of their symptoms, and create achievable, sustainable changes to their food and lifestyle habits, giving their bodies and minds what they need to heal. This includes areas such as digestive disorders, fatigue, autoimmune diseases, weight management, eating disorders, pain, brain fog, anxiety, depression and stress management. What’s your favorite part of your job?
It brings me so much joy to see my clients regaining the energy, vitality and level of wellness and happiness that they so deserve! When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing for fun? Spending time with my 3 sons is my favorite thing in the world, whether it’s supporting their sports games, traveling with them, or just chilling at home. Running, pilates and hiking with my dogs keep me physically and emotionally fit!
You could give your patients one piece of advice, what would it be?
It’s so common to feel overwhelmed at the start of our healing journey. Start where you are, not where you want to be. Small changes can make the world of difference. Belief, hope and the support of your team are on your side.
