We've all been there - trying to shed some pounds, get back into shape, and most of all, feel comfortable in your body again. You start out the week strong, but by Friday you never want to see a salad again, and you swear you can hear Krispy Kreme calling your name on your drive home. Sound familiar?
According to the CDC, more than half of Americans are trying to lose weight. Our team here at Rising Health has seen similar trends, with many of our patients bringing up weight loss as one of their concerns.
We believe that a well rounded approach is the best way to help our patients reach their weight loss goals, and keep the weight off. Making small, consistent healthy choices slowly leads to a healthier lifestyle overall, which is much more sustainable than any crash diet out there.
Our team includes:
Functional nutrition expert Sinéad Urwin
Renowned physician & weight loss expert Dr. Girish Kalva
Optimal wellness specialist & provider Carrie Welter
Looking at a patient's activity levels & eating habits is an important part of weight loss, but it's not the whole picture. Thyroid levels, hormone imbalances, and other medical conditions can make losing weight much, much harder than it needs to be. This is why we're such big advocates for taking the time to run bloodwork, check hormone levels, and complete any other tests recommended by our providers while helping our patients embark on their weight loss journey.
Dr. Girish Kalva recently gave a talk to local providers in conjunction with Smith Rexall Drug & the Utah Hormone Association on how he's helped his patients lose over 3,000 pounds. You can watch his full talk here.
